Kemar Keanu Wynter has four artworks on view in Mama’s in the Kitchen, a group show at Anat Ebgi. According to the press release, the exhibition “focuses on the ways in which domestic labor and care can be radical acts in our hyper-capitalist modern culture, which typically undermines the significant role of the rituals of the home.” Mama’s in the Kitchen is on view through August 17, 2024.

Kemar Keanu Wynter has a painting included in Visible World, a group show of contemporary paintings at Halsey McKay Gallery’s East Hampton location. The exhibition is on view July 8 – 31, 2023.

Kemar Keanu Wynter’s solo show Heralds was reviewed by Isabella Rafky for Hyperallergic. Rafky considers the harmony Wynter has found mixing technique and heritage. Heralds is on view through Saturday June 17.

Kemar Keanu Wynter and Joy Curtis are both recipients of the 2023–24 Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program in DUMBO, Brooklyn, New York. The Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program awards rent-free private studio spaces to a jury-selected group of artists for one year.

Kemar Keanu Wynter is participating in “Artist Room 2023” at Encounter Gallery in Lisbon, PT. The “Artist Room” project was introduced in 2018 to provide artists the opportunity to present a focused solo installation of a specific series of recent work. The exhibition is on view March 24 through May 13, 2023.

Kemar Keanu Wynter’s Jerk Pork (2021) was acquired by Art Galleries at Black Studies, University of Texas. “Art Galleries at Black Studies at The University of Texas at Austin (AGBS) is a collecting institution whose mission is to acquire, preserve, interpret, exhibit, and otherwise make accessible modern and contemporary art and cultural materials from Africa and the African Diaspora for the benefit of a variety of audiences” (from AGBS website).
