Donna Chung often works with found or reconstituted materials in confluence with handmade elements. Her studio practice is spent arranging or manipulating what she has collected. A piece of wire might turn into a gold ball, a bouncy ball cut in half to reveal the swirl of the color inside, or yarn sewn delicately into a piece of plastic. Chung’s playful, comical sensibility is parried by a pointed tactility and a calculated economy of means.
